Coconut shell activated carbon is selected on iodine number, CTC or tetrachloro-methane activity, mesh size and hardness. For vapor-phase VOC recovery, 4×8 or 6×12 granular media with high CTC activity is typical; for liquid phase, 8×30 mesh balances kinetics and pressure drop.
Service and Replacement
Spent carbon from solvent recovery can sometimes be regenerated thermally off-site; replacement scheduling should be based on breakthrough testing rather than fixed intervals. We supply coal-based and coconut-shell grades and can advise on changeout planning for existing beds.
