Project Overview
This project is located in Baoding, Hebei, serving a soybean phospholipid manufacturer. The waste gas is discharged from vacuum pumps and condensing equipment, with acetone as the main component. The gas is highly volatile, low flash point and flammable, so safety prevention is the core design point.
Core Parameters
- Raw gas volume: 200 m³/h, diluted to 5,000 m³/h for safety
- Discharge standard: Non-methane total hydrocarbons ≤60 mg/m³
Process Flow
Dilution Air → Flame Arrestor → Steam Heat Exchanger → Electric Heater → CO Catalytic Oxidizer → Silencer & Exhaust Chimney
Safety Dilution: Dilute high-concentration acetone gas to below 25% of the lower explosive limit to avoid explosion risks.
Preheating: Recover heat via steam heat exchanger to reduce electric heating load.
Catalytic Decomposition: The preheated gas is oxidized into carbon dioxide and water at low temperature in the CO unit.
Intelligent Interlock: Equipped with online LEL detector, the emergency vent valve will automatically open when the concentration exceeds the limit.
Main Equipment
- Flame arrestor
- Steam heat exchanger
- Electric heater assembly
- CO catalytic unit
- Noble metal catalyst
- Explosion-proof induced draft fan
- Online combustible gas monitoring system
Operation Performance
The equipment operates stably for a long time with qualified purification indicators. After reaching self-heating balance, the electric heater is basically shut down with extremely low daily power consumption. The multiple safety interlocks respond sensitively to adapt to high-risk acetone working conditions.
Technical Highlights
- Double safety protection system combining multi-stage dilution and online monitoring & venting interlock
- Low-temperature catalytic process with small equipment size, low initial investment and small footprint
- Simple process and high automation, low maintenance difficulty, suitable for 24-hour non-stop production
