Beijing North Vehicle Group – Painting Workshop VOCs Treatment (Zeolite Rotor + CO)

Project Overview

This is a waste gas treatment project for the painting workshop of Beijing North Vehicle Group. The exhaust gas is typical large-air-volume and low-concentration coating VOCs, mixed with paint mist, benzene series and volatile organic solvents. The original water curtain direct discharge process is upgraded to a complete advanced treatment system.

  • Total treatment air volume: 60,000 m³/h
  • Inlet VOC concentration: 200 mg/m³
  • Discharge standard: ≤50 mg/m³
  • Operation mode: 24-hour continuous operation, 300 working days per year

Process Flow

Multi-stage Dry Filter → Zeolite Concentration Rotor → CO Catalytic Oxidizer → Plate Heat Exchanger → High-altitude Discharge

Pretreatment: Four-stage graded filters (G3/G4/F9) intercept paint mist and solid particles to prevent blockage of rotor micropores.

Concentration Unit: The hydrophobic zeolite rotor with a concentration ratio of 20:1 converts large-air-volume low-concentration waste gas into small-air-volume waste gas to reduce the load of subsequent equipment.

Catalytic Oxidation: The desorbed high-concentration gas enters the CO unit and is completely oxidized at 210~500°C with the action of noble metal catalyst.

Waste Heat Reuse: The plate heat exchanger recovers flue gas heat to supply heat for rotor desorption and cut down energy consumption.

Operation Performance

The VOC removal efficiency is over 90%, and all particulate indicators comply with DB11/1226-2015 (Beijing Local Standard). The incombustible zeolite material has a service life of 8~10 years with low failure rate. Equipped with multiple safety interlocks for over-temperature, over-pressure and fan fault.
